This is a video that i captured from my balcony. The mother pigeon has been hatching on its egg for a good 7-10 days now. Fact: A pigeon always lays eggs in three. This one also did but a couple of crows took the other two eggs away. Simply could not understand the logic behind the mother putting all its weight and sitting on the chick. Protection, yes but what about the irritation and the suffocation the chick has to undergo? Small price to pay for being alive i guess. 

Note: Do hold till the end of the video - last 1,1.5 minutes. The pigeon actually gets up from the chick and you'll know what i was referring to earlier.
